Andrew is one of the Directors of Aviation Safety Management Systems Ltd. He has advised on strategic, economic and regulatory issues in a wide range of industries.

Chris Jackson

Chris is a highly experienced UAS pilot, test pilot, trainer, examiner, and engineer. He is an expert pilot on fixed wing, multi-rotor, and single-rotor helicopter platforms.

As Flight Standards Manager, Chris is responsibile for setting and maintaining the standards for flight training and testing for ASMS’ UAS training activities. He has oversight of our basic flight training, initial issue flight test, Part 102 Operational Competency Assessment, and Night Rating assessment.
Chris also holds CAA "approved person" status for inspecting and approving the construction of UAS with a gross mass of more than 15kg. For more information visit the Jackson UAS website.

John Funnell

Agricultural Instructor

The holder of an E category flight instructor rating, John delivers our UAV Agricultural Rating course for rotary wing (including multi-rotor) operators.

John has a lifetime of aviation experience as a helicopter pilot in commercial, agricultural, and search-and-rescue operations.

David Latham

Agricultural Instructor

David is ASMS’ agricultural representative in the Deep South. He has over 25 years’ experience in the industry with over 8,000 hours flying agricultural operations and extensive experience in aerial firefighting.

When he’s not flying, David is an expert horseman and a Director of Flying Horse Ltd.

Chris Robertson

Chris Robertson

UAV Consultant

Chris has a wealth of experience in small and large UAV operations, including as Flight Test Engineer for Pyka.

As a UAS Consultant, Chris is responsible for developing the capability of customers to utilise UAS in their operations, including by way of delivering training and conducting assessment, developing procedures, assisting with Part 102 certification, and providing technical advice. He is also be available as a contract pilot or team member for customers.

Paul Bealing

UAV Flight Examiner

Paul is UAS Operations Manager and a Geospatial Science Technician with the Department of Geography, University of Canterbury. He has extensive experience in using UAVs and USVs to support research activities, including in extreme environments.

Yongxi He

Yongxi is an expert drone racer and a professional airline pilot.
